EY GDS Spain in Málaga is seeking a Senior SAP Transformation Risk Consultant to support international SAP transformation programmes, focusing on migrations, governance and testing across ECC to S/4HANA transitions.

You will work with cross-functional teams to assess risks, controls and documentation, and help clients deliver secure, well-governed transitions in a global delivery environment.

• 3–6 years of experience in SAP or ERP transformation, migration, implementation, testing or IT audit projects.
• Hands-on involvement in SAP/ERP transformation and migration projects, including assurance and testing.
• Familiarity with governance, controls and risk management in SAP transformations.
• Knowledge of data migration, interfaces, security and change management within SAP projects.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.

SAP Migration and Transformation Risk Consultant – EY GDS Spain

Our Technology Risk team supports international clients throughout SAP and ERP transformation programmes by assessing whether migrations, implementations and system changes are appropriately governed, controlled and tested. The team evaluates technology, data and control risks and recommends improvements to help organisations deliver secure, reliable and well-controlled transformations.

The opportunity

As a member of our team in the GDS office in Malaga, Spain, you will work on international SAP transformation and migration programmes using modern technologies and structured assurance approaches. You will combine practical SAP knowledge with risk, controls and testing expertise to help clients deliver successful transitions from legacy ERP environments to SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior SAP Transformation Risk Consultant, you will contribute technically to client and internal projects focused on SAP and ERP transformations. You will work alongside programme, functional, technical, security and audit teams to assess whether migrations are properly planned, tested, controlled and documented.

An important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You will also identify potential business opportunities and risks within projects and share any issues with senior members of the team. In line with EY GDS commitment to quality, you will perform high-quality work.

Review SAP and ERP transformation or migration programmes, including implementations, upgrades, rollouts and ECC to S/4HANA transitions.

Assess migration risks related to data, interfaces, access, security, change management and business controls.

Review project governance, testing strategy, cutover readiness, defect management and evidence supporting key programme decisions.

Perform assurance and control testing, document findings and communicate risks and recommendations to senior team members and client stakeholders.

Skills and attributes for success

This position requires a professional who can understand how SAP transformation programmes work, analyse technical and business information, and explain risks clearly to different stakeholders. You should be comfortable working with structured methodologies, detailed evidence and international project teams.

• 3-6 years of experience in SAP or ERP transformation, migration, implementation, testing, quality assurance, technology risk, IT controls or IT audit projects.


• Practical experience reviewing or supporting at least one SAP implementation, migration, upgrade, rollout or ECC to S/4HANA transformation.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a high standard of integrity and confidentiality.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Business Technology or a similar discipline.


• Hands‑on involvement in SAP or ERP transformation and migration projects, ideally covering programme assurance, testing, controls, risk or quality assurance.


• Working knowledge of SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA, including standard transactions, tables, reports, user access and key system interfaces.


• Understanding of the SAP transformation lifecycle, from planning and design through build, testing, data migration, cutover and post-go-live support.


• Ability to identify and assess risks affecting data migration, system integration, access, security, change management and business‑process controls.


• Experience reviewing project documentation, test evidence, defects, reconciliations and readiness or cutover activities.


• Familiarity with finance and supply‑chain processes and their relationship with SAP modules and controls.


• Fluent English. Knowledge of another European language is an advantage.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Fluency in Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian or another European language.


• Experience working in international SAP or ERP transformation programmes.


• Relevant certification in SAP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP GRC, ITIL, software quality assurance, project management, risk or IT audit.


• Experience in Program Assurance, SAP controls, ITGC, SOX, Segregation of Duties or software quality assurance.
