Job Requirements

Following a change of ownership in 2024 Adevinta is now owned by a consortium of private equity houses led by Blackstone and Permira and represents one of their largest investments in Europe in recent times. Our businesses are demonstrating strong profitable growth following a change of operating model placing focus on business autonomy supported by a small but highly skilled team of central finance professionals driving performance improvements across the markets and central functions.

As RTR Global Process Owner, you will be the end-to-end process responsible for the Record-to-Report cycle across Adevinta's international markets. You will own process design, governance, and continuous improvement across key sub-processes including General Ledger, Intercompany, Month-End Close, Master Data Management (MDM), Payroll Accounting, and Fixed Assets. Operating in a dynamic, private equity-backed environment, you will work closely with Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Treasury, and other key finance stakeholders to drive standardization, efficiency, and compliance on a global scale.

This is a high-impact role suited to a process leader who thrives in complex, matrixed organizations and is comfortable engaging with senior management, driving change, and delivering results in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications
  • +5 years of experience including:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Global Process Owner, Process Lead, or related Finance position with specific ownership of RTR in a multinational or global business services environment.
  • Deep knowledge of the RTR process cycle, including General Ledger, Intercompany, Month-End and Year-End Close, MDM, Fixed Assets, and Payroll Accounting interfaces.
  • Critical hands-on experience with SAP (preferably S/4HANA); familiarity with SAP configuration concepts impacting RTR is essential.
  • Experience with BlackLine or equivalent account reconciliation / financial close management platforms.
  • Exposure to additional finance systems such as OneStream or CRMs is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and experience working in multi-GAAP, multi-currency environments.
  • Understanding of internal control frameworks and SOX compliance.
  • Track record of leading or significantly contributing to finance transformation projects, including ERP implementations or shared services migrations.
  • Fluent English is essential; additional European languages (Spanish, French, German) are a strong plus.
Other Requirements
  • Proven ability to report to and influence senior management and Heads of Finance; comfortable engaging at C-suite level.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • International mindset with experience navigating multicultural, matrixed organizations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support stakeholder engagement across markets.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a global mindset; flexible and able to quickly adjust to changing priorities.
  • Problem-solving approach to process and people challenges, with a delivery and results-oriented mindset.
Job Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the end-to-end RTR process framework, including process maps, standard operating procedures, and controls documentation.
  • Define and enforce global RTR standards across all markets, ensuring alignment with IFRS regulation.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for RTR process issues, decisions, and exceptions across the organisation.
  • Lead the RTR process governance forum, engaging cross-functional and cross-market stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and external auditors to align on process requirements and outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with Heads of Finance and senior leadership across markets; able to credibly present to and influence C-suite audiences.
  • Translate complex process and technical topics into clear, concise communications and management reporting.
  • Operate confidently in an international environment, navigating cultural differences and multiple time zones.
  • Serve as the RTR subject matter expert for SAP (S/4HANA), overseeing system configuration decisions that impact the RTR landscape, including MDM, Intercompany, Payroll Accounting postings, and Fixed Assets.
  • Drive integration and optimization of complementary platforms such as BlackLine for account reconciliations and close management.
  • Collaborate with Finance Systems (FinSys) and IT teams on system enhancements, upgrades, and new implementations impacting RTR processes.
  • Promote the adoption of AI and automation tools to reduce manual effort and increase reporting accuracy.
  • Identify and prioritise process improvement opportunities across the RTR cycle, from journal entry to financial close and external reporting.
  • Lead or support finance transformation initiatives, including ERP changes/upgrades, shared services transitions, and process automation projects.
  • Benchmark RTR processes against industry best practice and drive meaningful improvements in close timelines, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset within the RTR community across markets.
  • Ensure RTR processes are compliant with internal control frameworks, SOX requirements, and external audit standards.
