ABB Robotics & Discrete Automation busca un/a Ingeniero/a de Infraestructura Linux para apoyar proyectos de I+D y soluciones de software en robótica. Se trabajará en Sant Quirze del Vallès (Barcelona) y Zurich, reportando al R&D Team Lead - Robotic Software Engineering y contribuyendo a una base IT segura y escalable.

La posición es híbrida y ofrece retos técnicos como automatización, migraciones complejas y gestión de infraestruc­tura crítica para equipos de I+D en robotics, en un entorno

Formación

• 3+ años de experiencia profesional en Infraestructura Linux o Administración de Sistemas.
• Experiencia configurando infra Linux para nuevas ubicaciones o entornos a gran escala.
• Conocimientos sólidos de redes (firewalls, VPNs, routing), despliegue OS y gestión de endpoints (Linux).
• Se aprecia inglés para colaborar con el equipo de Zurich y stakeholders globales.
• Se valoran experiencias en R&D, robótica o entornos de I+D.

Responsabilidades

• Instalar, configurar y desplegar la infraestructura Linux central y red para Barcelona y Zurich.
• Ejecutar migraciones y actualizaciones complejas con interrupción mínima.
• Desarrollar código de automatización (Ansible, Terraform) para IaC.
• Construir infraestructura Linux de alta disponibilidad y soluciones de almacenamiento.
• Aplicar buenas prácticas de ciberseguridad y cumplimiento local.
• Proporcionar soporte IT diario y gestión de endpoints para el equipo de I+D.

This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead - Robotic Software Engineering

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is part of the Sevensense team at ABB Robotics in Spain and Switzerland.

This is a unique opportunity to build, optimize, and maintain the secure IT foundation that enables our engineers to develop industry-leading visual navigation systems. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Translate architecture into reality by installing, configuring, and deploying the core Linux infrastructure, clusters, and network fabrics you and the team design for the Barcelona and Zurich sites.
• Execute complex migrations and upgrades from the command line, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Write and commit production-grade automation code (Ansible, Terraform) to deploy infrastructure as code, eliminating manual configuration drift.
• Architect and build high-availability Linux infrastructure alongside enterprise storage solutions.
• Enforcing robust cybersecurity practices and ensuring local compliance with global corporate security standards.
• Providing hands-on Linux endpoint management, software provisioning, and day-to-day IT support for the R&D team.

Qualifications for the role

• 3+ years of professional experience in Linux Infrastructure or Systems Administration.
• Proven experience in setting up and configuring Linux infrastructure for new locations or scaling environments.
• Solid knowledge of networking (firewalls, VPNs, routing), OS deployment, and endpoint management (Linux).
• You are at ease communicating in English (essential for daily collaboration with the Zurich team and global corporate stakeholders).
• Bonus points for previous experience supporting R&D, engineering, or robotics environments.
• Bonus points if you have a Cybersecurity certification (e.G., ISC2 CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent).
• Bonus points if you are familiar with the following: AWS, Docker, Debian, Proxmox, Nutanix, Mikrotik.
