Job summary

Mindquest is seeking a Finance Manager based in Madrid or Barcelona to lead the financial function for its Spanish operations.

Reporting to the Group Finance Department, you will oversee accounting, closing, reporting, budgeting, treasury, tax and the development of a Shared Services Centre while managing the local finance team.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance, accounting, audit or business administration.
• 12–15 years in corporate finance.
• Big Four experience in Audit, Transaction Services, or M&A preferred.
• Experience managing a financial scope >= €10 million in revenue.
• Strong expertise in accounting, financial closing, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury and local taxation.
• Experience in transformation or post-acquisition integration environment.
• Experience leading an accounting/finance team.
• Ability to operate in a demanding, international environment.
• Willingness to travel within Spain, esp. Madrid and Almería.

Responsibilities

• Represent Group Finance in Spain and implement governance standards.
• Support creation of new legal entities and financial integration of acquisitions.
• Oversee accounting activities and ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Improve reliability of financial reporting and provide management information to Group Finance.
• Manage budgeting and reforecasting processes, as well as variance analysis.
• Oversee treasury activities and prepare cash flow forecasts.
• Supervise local tax matters, including VAT and local taxes.
• Structure and improve financial processes to support growth in Spain.
• Manage the local finance team and support its development.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a Shared Services Centre to bring local invoicing fully in-house.
• Coordinate with Group Finance, operations, auditors and external partners.
• Contribute to finance transformation and information systems development projects.

Job description

As part of the expansion of its activities in Spain, our client, a company operating in the services sector, is looking for a Finance Manager based in Madrid or Barcelona.

Reporting to the Group Finance Department and working closely with the operational management team, the successful candidate will represent the Finance function across the Spanish scope. They will support a period of growth, organisational structuring and post-acquisition integration.

The role covers all financial, accounting, tax, administrative and treasury matters. It also includes managing and developing the local finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Required Profile

• Higher education degree in finance, accounting, audit or business administration.
• Ideally 12 to 15 years of experience in corporate finance.
• Previous Big Four experience, particularly in Audit, Transaction Services or M&A, would be highly valued.
• Proven experience managing a financial scope representing at least €10 million in revenue.
• Strong expertise in accounting, financial closing, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury and local taxation.
• Experience in a transformation, organisational structuring or post-acquisition integration environment.
• Previous experience managing or supervising an accounting and finance team.
• Ability to operate effectively in a demanding, evolving and international environment.
• Strong autonomy, attention to detail, leadership skills and a results-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel periodically within Spain, particularly to Madrid and Almería.

Languages

• Professional proficiency in English is essential.
• Proficiency in French would be a significant advantage, particularly when working with the Group Finance Department and the French headquarters.
• Location: Madrid or Barcelona.
• Periodic travel within Spain will be required, particularly to Madrid and Almería.
• Annual base salary: €70,000–€75,000 gross, depending on experience.
• Variable compensation: 10%.
• Benefit: company car.
