Offer Description

Mission:

Conduct research to improve knowledge of torrential processes of the hyperconcentrated flow type and, on a technological level, provide tools and criteria for the application of alert systems that allow risk management.

Functions to be developed:

  • Assess sediment availability and transport balances.
  • Perform the integration and analysis of available instrumental monitoring data.
  • Define and compare geomorphodynamic and flow mechanics models and perform validation with historical episodes.
  • Perform the simplified formulation to model the behavior in basins without an inventory of historical events.
  • Apply the model to the preliminary sizing of protective barriers.
  • Writing scientific documents and disseminating research results.
  • Hydrological and hydrodynamic modeling: configuration, calibration and analysis.
  • QGIS and scientific programming in Python (advanced level).
  • Processing, organization and analysis of inventory data.
Specific Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Hydrological and hydromorphological modeling of river basins and systems.
  • Geomorphological processes: erosion, transport and sedimentation.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applied to geosciences.
  • It will be assessed:
    • Have completed a master's degree in the specialty of Civil Engineering.

Professional Experience:

  • Field work in mountain terrain autonomously.
