Job summary

ICN2, a leading nanoscience and nanotechnology research center in Bellaterra, is seeking a Research Support Technician for the Inorganic Nanoparticles Group. You will support automated robotic platforms for synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles and help ensure reproducible, traceable workflows.

Responsibilities include operating automation systems, performing nanoparticle synthesis and characterization (UV-Vis, DLS, XRD, XPS, ICP-OES), data management and sample traceability, and

Qualifications

• Degree or higher vocational training in chemistry, nanoscience, materials science or related field.
• Experience in nanoparticle synthesis or characterization and in laboratory automation.
• Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

• Operate and maintain laboratory automation systems for synthesis and characterization.
• Support nanoparticle synthesis and characterization (UV-Vis, DLS, XRD, XPS, ICP-OES).
• Manage experimental data and sample traceability.
• Provide technical support and training to researchers.

Job description

ICN2, a leading nanoscience and nanotechnology research center and three-time Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence, is seeking a Research Support Technician for the Inorganic Nanoparticles Group in Bellaterra (Barcelona).

The successful candidate will support the operation and development of robotic platforms for automated nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, contributing to efficient, reproducible and traceable research workflows. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory automation systems, supporting nanoparticle synthesis and characterization (UV-Vis, DLS, XRD, XPS, ICP-OES), managing experimental data and sample traceability, organizing laboratory resources, and providing technical support and training to researchers.

Requirements:

Degree or Higher Vocational Training in Chemistry, Nanoscience, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related fields; practical laboratory experience; strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams. Experience in nanoparticle synthesis, characterization techniques, laboratory automation, data management or Python will be valued.
