The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is seeking a part-time Research Assistant to contribute to the ERC Starting Grant project DEMOTRADEOFF. You will assist in coding variables and indices for the comparative survey and help prepare the survey dataset for public release.

Ideal candidates hold a BA or MA in Political Science or related fields, with strong R or Stata skills and fluent English (native/C2). The role is 10 hours per week, temporary, with a gross annual salary of €11,322.51 plus

Job position

We are looking for a Research Assistant to be part of the research team of the ERC Starting Grant project DEMOTRADEOFF: Reconciling Citizens with the Trade-offs of Democracy: Attitudes Toward Democracy Under Rising Politicization. Assist in the coding of variables and indices for the comparative survey of the DEMOTRADEOFF project. Preparation of the DEMOTRADEOFF survey dataset for public release.

Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)

Higher University Degree, Bachelor's Degree or Official Master's Degree.

Degree (BA) in Political Science or related discipline

Advanced knowledge of R or Stata

Involvement in support to research projects related to the DEMOTRADEOFF project

11.322,51 € added to the Plus Campus corresponding amount and other salary supplements that may correspond. (Gross annual)

• Involvement in support to research projects related to the DEMOTRADEOFF project (10)
• Knowledge of relevant software (5)
• Advanced knowledge of R or Stata (5)
• Motivation and suitability for the position (30)

The selection committee reserves the right to not fill this position if no suitable candidate is identified

Minimum score required to pass the selection process: 60

Selection process:

One single evaluation process based on documents submitted with the application and an interview of the candidates that receive a combined score higher than 60 in “academic record, experience, knowledge of relevant software, languages”, unless in application of the agreement of 1st of February 2019, the court proposes other actions, tests and/or interviews to be carried out.
