Job summary

UST is seeking a Backend Developer Analyst to design, develop and optimize data processing solutions using Apache Spark and Scala. The role is part of the SIMA Squad working in an Agile environment, with responsibilities spanning analysis, development, testing and production validation.

The candidate will collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams and other squad members to deliver scalable backend solutions in a remote-friendly setup, with flexible work options and

Qualifications

Experience with Apache Spark and Scala in data processing projects.
Strong SQL skills and experience with PL/SQL.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software delivery lifecycles.

Responsibilities

Analyze and implement user stories following Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala.
Develop and optimize ETL processes and data transformation pipelines.
Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure solution quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during development, testing, and production phases.
Support UAT activities and coordinate issue resolution.
