Placements24 is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, implement, and maintain robust security systems, while automating security processes and guiding incident response. This is a strategic position to protect enterprise assets across distributed teams.

You will leverage expertise in network and cloud security, threat modeling, and DevSecOps to strengthen security postures and drive security initiatives forward.

• BS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related technical field required.
• 7+ years of hands-on information security engineering experience.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Security Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, contributing to their security operations and infrastructure development. This role is integral to designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems that protect the organization's digital assets. You will leverage your expertise to tackle complex security challenges, automate security processes, and ensure the highest level of protection against evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
• Develop and maintain secure cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) configurations and policies.
• Automate security workflows and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Conduct thorough security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests, providing actionable remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipeline (DevSecOps ).
• Lead incident response efforts for complex security breaches, performing deep-dive analysis and coordinating remediation activities.
• Mentor junior security engineers and contribute to the team's knowledge base and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; advanced degrees or equivalent experience are highly valued.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in information security engineering or a similar role.
• Proven expertise in network security, cloud security architecture, and application security .
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Deep understanding of threat landscapes, attack methodologies, and defensive strategies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
