Job summary

Noodle is seeking a Prompt Systems Engineer to sit at the intersection of AI capability and educational effectiveness. You will own the prompts and system instructions powering AI agents across enrollment, learning, and student support.

You will design, test, and continuously improve prompts, collaborate with product managers, learning designers, university stakeholders, and engineers, and build evaluation frameworks to prove agent behavior meets learning objectives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years designing and iterating prompts for LLM-powered apps in production.
• Familiar with prompt patterns: few-shot, chain-of-thought, roles, formatting, tool-use, RAG.
• Strong written communication to clearly convey intent and outcomes.
• Experience building prompt evaluations with metrics and test cases.
• Able to discuss context windows with engineers and Bloom's Taxonomy with faculty.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and maintain prompts and system instructions for AI agents in enrollment, learning, and student support.
• Create multi-step prompt architectures and RAG-augmented workflows with knowledge bases.
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy prompts via the AI orchestration platform.
• Develop three-way learner experiences among student, staff, and staff AI assistant.
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, tone, hallucination, and objective alignment.
• Establish prompt versioning and maintain a library of components.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate learning objectives into prompt-level instructions.
• Tune agents for programs and partner contexts; contribute best-practice documentation.
