Mott MacDonald Bentley | MMB is recruiting a Project Design Manager to join our office in Madrid, Barcelona or Seville and support the @one Alliance on major infrastructure projects.

You will own the technical design from feasibility through to handover, coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure designs are practical, sustainable, and aligned with cost, time and quality expectations. There is a strong emphasis on BIM, digital design, and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Experience leading design/engineering on complex infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 with Principal Designer experience is preferred.
• Proficient in BIM workflows and integrated design processes; strong English skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process on major capital projects from concept to detailed design.
• Ensure design outputs are integrated and meet objectives across operations, commercial, and environment.
• Act as Principal Designer under CDM regulations and manage design risk.
• Promote digital design excellence using BIM and 3D modelling.
• Drive technical standards, innovation, and low-carbon solutions.
• Plan and allocate design resources with delivery teams.
• Build relationships with stakeholders including operators, contractors, and regulators.
• Champion quality, health and safety in the Alliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers to grow skills and confidence.
