Job summary

PowerUp Talent is partnering with a high-growth rewards and loyalty platform to hire a Lead Data Engineer. You will design, scale, and own the data architecture for millions of daily events and lead a new data engineering team from scratch.

You will drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions across product, payments, and advertising ecosystems. You will own end-to-end pipelines, real-time processing, and data modeling with dbt, while shaping best

Qualifications

• Leadership experience mentoring engineers and building data teams
• Production-scale data platforms in production environments
• Strong Python, advanced SQL, data modeling, and schema evolution
• Hands-on with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) and AWS/GCP
• Solid Git, Docker, CI/CD, and Terraform fundamentals
• dbt or similar transformation frameworks; event-driven architectures
• Pragmatic, scalable solutions with strong communication and ownership

Responsibilities

• Lead and hire a world-class data engineering team.
• Define the technical roadmap and data standards across the org.
• Build scalable integrations across product, payments, advertising, and partners.
• Own end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion to downstream tools.
• Develop real-time processing capabilities for high-volume streams.
• Model, transform, and govern data for analytics and ML.
• Ship IaC and maintain CI/CD pipelines; monitor reliability and costs.
