Job summary

OpenNebula Systems is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join a fully remote, international team driving development and operations for the OpenNebula Kubernetes ecosystem. You will work on production-grade clusters, automate lifecycle management, and contribute to OneKS, CAPONE, and CSI integrations.

The role emphasizes hands-on Kubernetes expertise, strong Go programming, and collaboration across Linux, virtualization, networking, storage, and infrastructure automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
• Hands-on professional experience administering and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production or similarly complex environments.
• Professional experience developing software in Go.
• Experience with Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management, including Cluster API and RKE2.
• Experience collaborating on software projects using modern development workflows, version control, testing, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features across OneKS, CAPONE, and the OpenNebula CSI integration.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes and RKE2 clusters, including networking, storage, upgrades, and multi-layer infrastructure issues.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes controllers, operators, and Cluster API integrations using Go.
• Evaluate and integrate new solutions running on Kubernetes, including AI-related platforms and workloads.
• Contribute to improvements and issues in adjacent components such as the Terraform Provider and OpenNebula appliances.
• Automate and improve cluster lifecycle and platform integrations using Helm, Cluster API, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Write maintainable code, tests, and technical documentation, and collaborate closely with engineers across the OpenNebula stack.
