AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind an event-driven integration platform. You will manage build, deployment, and monitoring infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability.

The role emphasizes production Kafka expertise, Linux automation, CI/CD ownership, and observability. Flexible work options include remote and office settings in a global team, supporting growth and impact.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production Kafka experience.
• Strong Linux engineering and automation (shell + Python).
• CI/CD ownership with pipelines and release management.
• Observability: logs, metrics, alerting and SLOs.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of security and authentication (OAuth2).
• Good written and verbal communication with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: design, partitioning, replication, retention, and upgrades.
• Maintain platform resilience during vendor outages and spikes.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once delivery semantics.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, dashboards, alerts.
• Plan capacity, cost, and retention for durable logs with audit needs.
• Integrate vendor-native streaming and change-data-capture as needed.
• Manage build/release pipelines: Jenkins, signed images, docs.
• Operate container deployments and runtime estate.
• Automate environment provisioning and inventory as truth source.
• Collaborate with Python developers on performance and cost.
