Wave is hiring for a fully remote lead role overseeing the Database Reliability Team. You will ensure high availability and performance of critical databases, mentor a global team, and collaborate with infrastructure, product, and security to drive reliability initiatives.

The role requires five+ years in DB management, strong people leadership, and experience with incident response and capacity planning. Occasional travel to Africa is expected, with a competitive compensation package and equity.

Formación

• Minimum five years of experience managing database or storage teams.
• Proven people-management and mentorship experience.
• Experience running incident response, post-mortems and capacity planning.]
• Experience with cloud and on-premises infrastructure is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Lead Wave's Database Reliability Team to keep databases highly available and scalable.
• Mentor and coach a globally distributed DB engineering team.
• Collaborate with infra, product and security teams on platform DB initiatives.
• Drive best practices for monitoring, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
