Job summary

Talan is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to help build and scale a modern data platform using Databricks. You will drive reusable development patterns and contribute to the core data codebase under the guidance of the Central Platform Team.

Remote-friendly role with full-time hours in the Spain time zone (CET/CEST) for a 9-month fixed-term contract. Strong experience with PySpark, SQL, Python, and Git workflows is essential, along with a passion for AI-assisted coding tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Data Platform Engineer with Databricks.
• Strong PySpark, SQL, and Python within the Databricks ecosystem.
• Hands-on with IDEs (VS Code) and Git workflows (Git/GitHub).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT for code).
• Experience implementing design patterns, reusable frameworks, and modular data pipelines.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration in a platform-guided environment.
