Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Data API Engineer based in Spain to enhance a PostgreSQL-powered Data API used by developers worldwide. You will work on the PostgREST stack, improving database connectivity, query performance, new features, and scalability toward a multitenant API.

You will investigate complex issues, optimize bottlenecks, and strengthen observability to improve service reliability. Strong Haskell skills and a passion for PostgreSQL and open-source software are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience with Haskell.
• Proficiency in C and systems-level coding.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL knowledge; PL/pgSQL experience.
• Experience debugging in Linux environments.
• Open-source contributions and OSS workflow familiarity.
• Ability to work asynchronously with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve database connectivity by optimizing the PostgreSQL driver and Hasql usage.
• Develop Data API capabilities and contribute to PostgREST features and bugs.
• Enhance reliability and performance across the API services.
• Strengthen observability with monitoring and diagnostics improvements.
• Handle technical incidents and reduce recurring issues.
