Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CFD specialist to train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulations. You will take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, and build verified reference solutions while writing Python checks for the agent's results.

Work fully remote with a flexible schedule. Tasks are estimated at 10–20 hours per week during active phases, and compensation can be up to $31 per hour equivalent, varying by level and pace of contribution.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field; PhD preferred but not required.
• Several years of CFD experience with OpenFOAM, Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Solid verification and validation practices: mesh-independence studies and validation against benchmarks.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.
