Celanese in Asturias seeks a Regulatory Affairs Chemist - REACH (EMEA) to safeguard market access for our products across the EU. You will lead EU REACH and KKDIK registrations, manage dossiers in IUCLID and REACH-IT, and collaborate with Product Stewardship, R&D, Manufacturing and Commercial teams.

This role blends science, regulation and business strategy in a dynamic, international environment, offering exposure to regulatory analyses, audits and cross-functional projects.

Formación

  • BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Toxicology, Chemical Engineering or related scientific discipline.
  • Experience with EU REACH and KKDIK is highly desirable.
  • Experience with IUCLID, REACH-IT, regulatory databases is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interpret chemical regulations and translate requirements into business actions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in an international environment.

Responsabilidades

  • Create regulatory statements and respond to customer, supplier and authority inquiries.
  • Review supplier compliance information, support raw material approvals and assess REACH obligations for new materials and products.
  • Act as EMEA contact for REACH-related topics and provide regulatory support to Product Stewardship, R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing and Commercial teams.
  • Maintain and update REACH and KKDIK registrations, including dossier management in IUCLID, REACH-IT and related systems.
  • Coordinate data collection, substance identity assessments, exposure information and technical documentation required for registrations and dossier updates.
  • Manage interactions with ECHA, Turkish authorities, Only Representatives, Lead Registrants and industry consortia.
  • Perform regulatory impact assessments for emerging regulations such as PFAS restrictions, microplastics, SVHC updates, restrictions and classifications.
  • Support customer inquiries and internal requests.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Support Substance Volume Tracking (SVT) and portfolio transparency activities.
  • Manage consortium memberships, Letters of Access, study reviews and related invoices.
  • Develop regulatory strategies for new business opportunities and product changes.
  • Participate in customer discussions and provide regulatory expertise.
  • Evaluate laboratory reports, analytical methods, read-across approaches and data quality.
  • Support OR reporting, regulatory audits and compliance documentation.

Shape the Regulatory Future of Chemistry in Europe

We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Chemist - REACH (EMEA) to join our team in Asturias. This is a chance to sit at the intersection of science, regulation, and business strategy — protecting market access for the products that keep our operations running and our customers supplied, across one of the most complex regulatory landscapes in the world.

You’ll be the go-to expert on EU REACH and Turkish KKDIK compliance, working directly with regulators, industry consortia, and internal teams to keep our substances registered, our dossiers current, and our business moving forward.
