Amentum is seeking a Recreation Services Specialist to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will help develop and oversee recreation programs, ensuring safety standards and high-quality customer service for military personnel and civilians.

The role requires completing required training (MWR Star Service/AECR, HAZMAT, CPR, First Aid) and possess a high school diploma; a bachelor’s in Recreation/Sports Management is preferred. Travel internationally may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Support development, delivery, and oversight of recreation programs to meet military community needs.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous materials guidelines per CNICINST 1710.3.
• Manage day-to-day recreational services with focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
• Set up and support delivery of special events, sports leagues, community activities.
• Interact with patrons and respond to inquiries, ensuring customer needs are met.
• Maintain and inspect recreational equipment and facilities for safety readiness.
• Assist in inventory of supplies for programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Amentum is seeking a Recreation Services Specialist to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. Recreation Services Specialist is responsible for facilitating recreation programs and services to enhance the morale and welfare of military personnel and civilians. This role supports recreational activities, ensures compliance with safety standards, and delivers excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the development, delivery, and oversight of recreation programs and activities to meet the needs of the military community.
• Ensure compliance with guidelines for handling and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with CNICINST 1710.3, Chapter 1, Section 114.
• Manage day-to-day recreational services and ensure smooth operation of programs and facilities, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
• Set up and support delivery of special events, sports leagues, and community-wide recreational activities.
• Interact with patrons, respond to inquiries, and ensure customer needs are met professionally.
• Maintain and inspect recreational equipment and facilities to ensure readiness and compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in the proper management and inventory of supplies and materials used in recreational programs and activities.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to successfully complete and maintain all required training and certifications, including MWR Star Service/AECR, HAZMAT, CPR, AED, First Aid, and local emergency procedures training, with annual re-certification as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with recreational activities, programs, and customer service in a community or military setting.
• Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally. Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain
  requirements for the duration of deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or a related fi eld is preferred.
• Previous experience working in recreational services or MWR programs within a military or austere environment.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and manage recreational programs effectively.
• Multi-sport officiating or event organization skills.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
