Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Seville, Spain seeks an experienced R&D Senior Electronics Lifecycle Engineer to drive design, validation and lifecycle management of electronic hardware for modular power converters.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliability, EMC/EMI compliance, and continuous product improvement across development to industrialisation stages.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented R&D Senior Electronics Lifecycle Engineer to join our Power Conversion Solutions R&D team at Hitachi Energy in Seville, Spain.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, validation, and lifecycle management of electronic hardware for next-generation modular power converters, ensuring product reliability, performance, and long-term sustainability.

From initial hardware development to industrialisation, component obsolescence management, and continuous product improvement, you will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams in an innovative and international environment.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits, including schematics, PCB layouts, gate drivers, sensing, and protection systems using Altium Designer.


• Define hardware specifications and validation plans, ensuring design traceability, reliability, and compliance with EMC/EMI requirements.


• Coordinate prototype development, laboratory testing, hardware validation, and technical documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.


• Support hardware industrialisation, manufacturing documentation, BOM management, design reviews, and product releases.


• Manage electronic component obsolescence, evaluate alternative components and second sources, and coordinate engineering changes (ECR/ECO).


• Investigate hardware failures, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams on product improvements, certification support, and end-of-life planning.

Your Background

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, with an advanced level of English.


• Solid experience in analogue and digital hardware design, PCB schematics, layout, and electronic product development.


• Proficiency in Altium Designer, electronic component selection, and laboratory instrumentation.


• Knowledge of EMC/EMI principles, hardware validation, technical documentation, BOM management, and revision control.


• Experience in hardware industrialisation, product maintenance, engineering changes, component obsolescence, and failure analysis.


• Extensive relevant experience, ideally 10+ years, with knowledge of power converters, gate drivers, semiconductors, FPGA, or reliability testing considered a strong advantage.
