Job summary

Artis BioSolutions Nucleic Acids Center of Excellence in Bilbao is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support analytical method development and routine GMP testing for RNA, LNPs, and DNA. The role involves execution, documentation, and data integrity within a GMP framework.

You will plan testing activities, supervise QC Analysts, and contribute to method transfer and validation programs in a fast-growing biotech environment based in Bilbao. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience in GMP/pharma settings.
• Experience in QC, nucleic acid analysis, method development or transfer.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, data integrity and ALCOA+ principles.
• English B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing for RNA, LNPs, and DNA QC.

Job description

Artis BioSolutions Nucleic Acids Center of Excellence in Bilbao is dedicated to the development and manufacturing of advanced nucleic acid-based products, including RNA, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and DNA technologies.

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Bilbao, Spain, supporting the development, implementation and execution of analytical methods for the quality control of RNA, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and DNA in a GMP-regulated environment.

The position will be involved in analytical method development, qualification, verification and validation, as well as routine GMP testing and batch release activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform analytical testing for the characterization and quality control of RNA, LNPs and DNA.
• Support analytical method development, implementation, qualification, verification, validation and transfer.
• Plan analytical testing and experimental activities, coordinating day-to-day laboratory work with QC Analysts.
• Provide technical guidance to QC Analysts and review analytical results and documentation.
• Prepare and update SOPs, analytical procedures, protocols and reports.
• Review and document analytical data in accordance with GMP and data integrity requirements.
• Support OOS/OOT investigations and analytical troubleshooting.

PROFILE

• Degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biology or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or GMP environment.
• Experience in Quality Control, nucleic acid analysis, analytical method development/validation or analytical transfer will be highly valued.
• Knowledge of GMP, data integrity and ALCOA+ principles.
• English B2 or above, with the ability to communicate effectively in a technical and GMP-regulated environment.

Hands-on experience in one or more of the following techniques will be highly valued:

• Capillary electrophoresis and agarose gel electrophoresis
• HPLC/UHPLC and LC-MS
• qPCR and ddPCR
• UV-Vis spectrophotometry and fluorescence-based assays
• Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and other nanoparticle characterization techniques
• ELISA and immunoblotting
• Sequencing and sequence data interpretation
• Microbiological testing

Experience applying these techniques to the characterization and quality control of RNA, DNA and/or LNPs-based products will be particularly valued.
