Lubrizol Corporation in Spain seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead quality control and quality assurance activities, ensuring robust laboratory practices and compliance across manufacturing processes.

You will supervise analytical method development, calibration, and investigations of non-conformities, while coaching the team and collaborating with Operations, R&D, and external partners to drive continuous improvement.

Formación

• University degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Quality Control and Quality Assurance environment within the chemical, polymer, specialty chemicals, or related manufacturing industry.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience working with ISO 9001 standards and/or other quality management systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of polymer materials, polymer testing methodologies, and quality requirements for polymer manufacturing.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with analytical and physical testing, method development, troubleshooting, and test result interpretation.
• Experience leading customer complaints, non-conformity investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and LIMS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain site processes in accordance with quality standards and internal requirements.
• Manage calibration and qualification of Quality Department laboratory equipment with internal/external partners.
• Coordinate investigations of complaints to prevent recurring issues with materials and finished goods.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Develop and implement new analytical methods and testing plans.
• Provide technical leadership on polymer quality challenges and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in laboratory activities and method development.
• Participate in corporate quality audits and support corrective actions.
• Contribute to site quality goals and safety objectives.
• Coach and develop the quality team.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Quality Control Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of our innovation, leading quality control and quality assurance activities that support reliable products, robust laboratory practices, and continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions that advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

In this role, you will:

Maintain site processes in accordance with quality standards, internal requirements, and third-party approvals.

Manage the maintenance, qualification, and calibration of Quality Department laboratory equipment in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Coordinate, analyze, and report complaint investigations to help prevent recurring issues involving raw materials, finished goods, and internal non-conformities.

Lead and support quality assurance initiatives, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions, to strengthen compliance and continuous improvement.

Investigate, develop, and implement new analytical methods, test plans, and work instructions based on business needs.

Provide technical leadership on polymer-related quality challenges, testing methodologies, and manufacturing processes in partnership with Operations, Research and Development, and technical teams.

Maintain hand-on involvement in laboratory activities, including method development, troubleshooting, data review, and validation of analytical results.

Participate in corporate quality audits and support follow-up actions.

Contribute to achievement of the site’s annual NWSM goal and applicable quality, safety, and operational objectives.

Develop the team through coaching, feedback, knowledge sharing, and learning opportunities while leading by example.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

University degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Quality Control and Quality Assurance environment within the chemical, polymer, specialty chemicals, or related manufacturing industry.

Minimum of 7 years of experience working with International Organizations for Standardization (ISO9001) standards and/or other quality management systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of polymer materials, polymer testing methodologies, and quality requirements associated with polymer manufacturing processes.

Hands-on laboratory experience with analytical and physical testing techniques, method development, troubleshooting, and interpretation of test results.

Experience leading customer complaints and non-conformity investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.

Proven people leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, enterprise resource planning systems, and laboratory information management systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward

Ph.D. or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related discipline.

Experience in specialty chemicals, additives, lubricants, coatings, or polymer manufacturing.

Knowledge of statistical quality tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience participating in or leading customer, regulatory, third-party, or corporate quality audits.
