We are looking for a Quality Assurance Lead who will ensure the highest quality standards across our innovative digital payment solutions!

You will be responsible for designing and driving the QA strategy for complex systems including backend services, APIs, mobile SDKs, mobile and web applications, and secure element applets. By leading a team of QA engineers and embedding quality practices across the development lifecycle, you will guarantee functionality, performance, security and scalability at every step.

You will work closely with engineering, product and DevOps teams, reporting to the CTO, to ensure quality becomes a core pillar of our technological vision and business success.

Your Responsibilities

• QA Strategy: Define and implement a comprehensive testing strategy covering functional, performance, security and reliability aspects.
• Automation: Build and maintain automated testing frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Functional Testing: Oversee test design and execution for backend services, APIs, mobile SDKs and applications.
• Non‑Functional Testing: Drive performance, scalability and security testing, including vulnerability assessments and compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams to embed quality practices and ensure smooth integration of all components.
• Leadership: Mentor and guide QA engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Reporting: Define quality KPIs, track defects and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years in QA, including 3+ years in a lead role for complex, distributed systems.
• Proven experience testing backend services, APIs, SDKs and mobile/web applications.
• Expertise in automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Appium, JMeter, Postman).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD processes, databases and security testing methodologies (OWASP).
• Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to prioritise under tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Background in testing payment or financial systems.
• Experience with secure elements, smartcards or embedded systems testing.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based testing environments and containerised deployments.
• Certifications in QA or security (e.g. ISTQB, CEH, CISSP) are a plus.
