Vortech PCI Group is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with a strong functional testing background to own testing strategy within a large international development team. You will lead functional testing across products, defining test plans, coordinating testing activities, and ensuring quality across releases.

You will collaborate with developers and the Product Owner, review automation results, and coach QA practices while promoting a quality-first culture in a dynamic, European-focused environment.

Senior QA Engineer (Functional Testing)

At Vortech PCI Group, we are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with a functional testing background to act as the quality reference within a large international development team.

This is not a hands-on automation role: we are looking for someone who owns the testing strategy, leads functional quality, and becomes "the voice of quality" for the whole team — someone with the seniority and communication skills to influence developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders.

Your role

You will join a large, international software development team, taking ownership of quality end to end.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Defining the test strategy, scope, and test plans for the product
• Executing and coordinating functional and manual testing activities
• Establishing acceptance criteria and ensuring adequate test coverage
• Managing defects throughout the development lifecycle, including severity assessment and follow-up
• Working closely with developers and the Product Owner as the quality counterpart
• Guiding the development team on how to prepare and structure automated tests
• Reviewing the results of test automation and AI-assisted testing to ensure reliability
• Promoting a quality-first culture and coaching the team on QA best practices

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of experience in QA, with a strong functional/manual testing background
• Proven experience defining test strategies and test plans from scratch
• Experience managing defects, acceptance criteria, and quality reporting
• Solid understanding of test automation concepts — enough to review, orient, and challenge automated tests (you will not be responsible for building the framework)
• Experience managing testing workflows using JIRA or similar tools
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead by influence within large teams
• Autonomy, ownership, and a genuine quality mindset
• English level B2+ or higher, as you will work in international environments
• French is a strong plus
• Ability to work from within European territory
