Job summary

Q-tech in Madrid is hiring a QA Automation Engineer to join the Investment Risk IT team. You will shape the quality culture across risk platforms, blending manual testing with automation, taking ownership and communicating clearly.

You’ll work in a hybrid model near the city center, contributing to CI/CD, performance testing and QA tooling improvements while collaborating with developers, BAs and product owners.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in QA with solid manual testing and test automation
• Experience with Serenity BDD, Cucumber and/or Gatling
• REST API and web services testing experience
• Fluent English; German is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design and run manual tests across frontend, API and database layers, focusing on edge cases and business risks
• Build and maintain automated tests with Cucumber and Serenity BDD
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for fast, reliable feedback
• Support performance and load testing
• Report quality status clearly using Allure
• Work closely with developers, BAs and product owners, and propose improvements to QA practices and tooling

We're hiring a QA Automation Engineer to join the Investment Risk IT team of a leading global asset management firm in Madrid.

You’ll help shape the quality culture of their risk platforms, combining thoughtful manual testing with pragmatic automation. It's a team that values ownership, curiosity and clear communication, and where quality is built in from day one, not added at the end.

What you'll do

• Design and run manual tests across frontend, API and database layers, focusing on edge cases and business risks
• Build and maintain automated tests with Cucumber and Serenity BDD
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for fast, reliable feedback

What we're looking for

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
• 3+ years in QA, with solid experience in both manual testing and test automation
• Experience with Serenity BDD, Cucumber and/or Gatling
• Hands-on with Git, Jenkins and Gradle
• REST API and web services testing experience
• Fluent English; German is a plus
• Comfortable using AI tools responsibly to boost productivity
