Job summary

Vestas seeks a seasoned Project Manager for wind project construction, based in Madrid in a hybrid role. You will oversee safety, environmental procedures, and project execution, coordinating with customers and subcontractors across phases from bid to delivery.

Responsibilities include maintaining time plans, profitability, cash flow and risk oversight, with accurate reporting and a drive for on‑time or early completion, while aligning with contract obligations and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and construction, preferably in wind or energy.
• Bachelor's or master's degree.
• Experience in installation and EPC contracts.
• Financial and contract management skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise fulfillment of safety and environmental procedures related to projects, from awareness to auditing process in order to guarantee service level agreements and compliance with regulations and company standards
• Secure customer relationships, leading to increased customer satisfaction
• Represent the organization towards Customers and Subcontractors project management in projects related correspondence, meetings, and negotiations
• Ensure the key objectives for each project, including profitability, cash flow and time
• Develop and monitor project time plans as well as establish action and recovery plans to ensure compliance with internal targets and customer/ contract expectations
• Guarantee the right reporting and forecasting of time progress and financial performance of each project with transparency, reliability and accuracy
• Strive for improving on‑time and even early completion of the projects to maximize Customer satisfaction and financials
• Perform Risk and Opportunities management within the projects, including strategies, action plans and follow‑up
• Ensure the establishment of the project execution vision & strategy, based on the contract, in order to meet the project performance goals
• Make sure that a contract management plan is defined and implemented on project level, as well as a project quality plan, guaranteeing that both customer and Vestas obligations are fulfilled
• Ensure that the project's communication is adequately handled internally and externally
• Implement Vestas project management and site installation processes and procedures
• Seek continuous improvement by proposing relevant methods and tools
• Lead and coach the project and site installation team, defining project goals and objectives, evaluating individual performance, motivating and optimizing the team workload
• Participate in developing the procurement strategy of projects, selection and assessment of suppliers and ensure sub-contracts' compliance with project requirements and contract/customer expectations
• Provide support in the tendering phase by delivering support to the Bid Management (input to pre‑calculations, scope & risk assessments, sites organization, negotiations, etc.)

Vestas Mediterranean (MED) is an independent Sales Business Unit (SBU) within Vestas Wind Systems A/S, covering markets in South and East Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Vestas MED is responsible for developing these markets in terms of sales, project installation, and customer service.

The Construction department is in charge of the construction of wind projects and installation and commissioning of the wind turbines (supply & installation / EPC) under contracts sold by the sales department.
