Job summary

Solutia Life Sciences, the recruitment division of Solutia, is seeking a Project Manager R&D in Barcelona to lead end‑to‑end development of food supplements and cosmetics from concept to market launch. You will ensure scientific robustness, regulatory feasibility, manufacturing viability, and strong commercial differentiation.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of product development experience in food supplements, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, or health products.
• Experience managing CMOs and external development partners.
• Ability to translate scientific concepts into commercially relevant products.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development (NPD) projects for food supplements and cosmetic products from ideation to commercialization.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with CMOs, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Propose innovative, market-driven formulations feasible from manufacturing and regulatory perspectives.
• Select ingredients supported by claims, regulatory compliance, and/or clinical evidence.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation, formulations, specifications, and dossiers.
• Develop scientific and clinical materials for Medical Affairs and Commercial teams.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Medical, and Commercial teams.
• Monitor market trends, innovation, and competitive landscape in nutraceuticals and cosmetics.
• Ensure timelines, budgets, and project milestones are met.

Solutia Life Sciences is the recruitment division of Solutia, specializing in technical and middle management roles within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device sectors.

We are currently supporting a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Barcelona in their search for a Project Manager R&D.

Role Missio

To lead the end-to-end development of food supplements and cosmetic products, from concept to market launch, ensuring scientific robustness, regulatory feasibility, manufacturing viability, and strong commercial differentiation.

Reporting Line

This position reports directly to CEO

Key Responsibilites

• Lead new product development (NPD) projects for food supplements and cosmetic products from ideation to commercialization.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with CMOs, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Propose innovative, market-driven formulations that are feasible from a manufacturing and regulatory perspective.
• Select ingredients supported by approved claims, regulatory compliance, and/or published clinical evidence.
• Prepare and manage technical product documentation, including formulations, specifications, and dossiers.
• Develop scientific and clinical support materials for Medical Affairs and Commercial teams.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Medical, and Commercial teams.
• Monitor market trends, innovation, and competitive landscape in nutraceuticals and cosmetics.
• Ensure timelines, budgets, and project milestones are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• 3–7+ years of experience in product development within food supplements, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, or health product.
• Proven experience managing CMOs and external development partners.
