Studio Akamá seeks an architect, technical architect, or engineer specializing in project management to lead Mallorca-based projects. Minimum 8 years in construction project management and at least 5 years on absolute high-end projects are required.

You will independently manage later design phases, tendering, construction, close-out and hand-over, coordinating with the design team and site supervision.

Formación

• 8+ years of professional experience in construction project management or site management in residential and/or hospitality sectors.
• Strong English and Spanish; German is a plus and other languages valued.
• Experience managing high-end projects (minimum 5 years) and coordination of multiple stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead on-site teams including general contractor, consultants, trades, and authorities.
• Oversee design development, execution planning, tendering, and construction activities to meet client budgets and timelines.
• Manage quantity take-offs, budgets and tenders during planning; review change orders and final accounts.
• Ensure quality control, cost review and scheduling with the project supervision team.
• Maintain client relationships and liaison with local authorities for permitting and licensing.
• Occasionally produce drawings in AutoCAD and keep up-to-date with new materials and techniques.

Description

We are looking for an architect, technical architect or engineer specialized in project management to manage our projects in Mallorca. At least 8 years of professional experience in construction project management and/or as site manager in the residential (detached houses) and/ or hospitality sector is required. Thereof a minimum of 5 years managing absolute high-end projects is required.

You must be able to manage high-end projects independently during the later phase of the planning process (design development/ proyecto de ejecución), tendering and construction processes as well as close-out and hand-over.

• Participate in the design phase and construction details with the design team.
• Manage quantity take-offs, budgets and tenders during the planning phase.
• Check change orders, progress certificates and final accounts to ensure we respect our client budget.
• Carry out site management and quality control, costs review and schedule together with the project supervision team (architect and aparejador).
• Keep up to date with new materials and construction techniques.
• Manage permitting and licensing with local authorities
• Lead the teams involved on site: General contractor, consultants, special trades, local authorities
• Ensure we respect our target in terms of execution timing and finance
• Manage day-to-day activities on site with the general contractor
• Manage the client relationship
• Occasionally produce drawings in AutoCAD

Very good communication, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are very important.

In addition to technical experience, a strong affinity for architecture and design is required. The candidate should be persistent, creative and detail-oriented, able to work independently and highly loyal in a very demanding environment.
