Job summary

Amazon is hiring an experienced Project Engineering Manager to drive innovation and expansion in the AMZL network across Spain and Europe. You will lead deployment projects including new launches, automated solutions, MHE layouts, and retrofit improvements in delivery stations.

You will manage the full lifecycle of programs, coordinating with senior leaders, balancing resources and budgets, and delivering successful deployments that meet business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in planning, scheduling and auditing maintenance activities.
• Experience working with CMMS and MHE.

Responsibilities

• Manage highly complex concurrent projects related to deployment of engineering solutions in AMZL delivery stations.
• Own a program or portfolio of projects related to launches or retrofits of technology types including Automation, MHE or building improvements.
• Lead the full project/program lifecycle from concept and budgeting to handover to stakeholders.
• Handle various project phases with limited guidance, addressing resource, capex and timeline constraints.
• Interact with Senior management to provide trade-off solutions meeting conflicts.
• Identify inefficiencies and lead improvements with relevant teams in the country or Europe.

Amazon is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Project Engineering Manager that can drive innovation, standardization and expansion in the Amazon logistics (AMZL) network.

As a member of the Field Engineering team you will be responsible for managing a broad range of exciting deployment projects including new launches, Automated solutions, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) re-layouts and other building retrofit improvements.

Key job responsibilities

• Managing highly complex concurrent projects related to the deployment of engineering solutions in delivery stations of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) network




• Owning a program or a portfolio of projects related to launches or retrofits of different technology types including Automation, Material Handling Equipment or other building improvement projects




• Leading the whole project/program lifecycle from concept and budgeting creation to handover at completion to relevant stakeholders




• Handling independently or with minimal guidance different tactical phases of the projects/program. This may include dealing with substantial constraints related to resource allocation, capex and timelines linked to business requirements




• Interacting with Senior level management across different functions to provide trade off solutions that satisfy potential conflicts




• Identifying inefficiencies of processes or standards within the allocated country or at European level and proactively leading improvements with the relevant teams

A day in the life

You will plan and manage execution of engineering projects in AMZL delivery stations primarily across ES or EU if required. Your day could include cross-functional engagement within the organization to agree program strategy, attend the site to monitor deployment progresses, plan and manage resources to execute activities according to business goals, enable efficient mechanisms to handover to customers. You will make strategic decisions on behalf of the business and see the outcome come to fruition through coordination of stakeholders, both internal and third party, and finally celebrating in the successful launch of the project… Day One for all of us!

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree




• Experience in planning, scheduling and auditing maintenance activities




• Experience working with CMMS software




• Experience Experience working with Material handling equipment (MHE)




• Travel up to 30-50% of the time if required

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level




• Experience working with and managing third party vendors




• Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing




• Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions




• Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments
