Job summary

Community Phone is seeking an experienced software engineer to shape product direction and contribute across the stack. You will design features with a customer-centric mindset, implement them end-to-end, and participate in data-driven decisions to improve core metrics.

You will collaborate with multiple teams, review code, and help raise the quality bar through testing and thoughtful feedback in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on usability, frontend, product design and information architecture.
• Proficient across the stack from Typescript to Python and/or Go.
• Excellent communicator with native or near-native English skills.
• Startup experience is preferable and demonstrated ability to learn new domains quickly.

Responsibilities

• Participate in designing the best product for our customers, being an active voice in what to build and why.
• Follow best practices, including accompanying (nearly) every PR with tests.
• Build and deploy features end-to-end making a significant impact on our company goals and product.
• Own key product metrics, like % of customers who take a certain action within the app.
• Support your team by participating in thoughtful code reviews and feedback sessions.

Community Phone Community Phone is building the best phone for communities in America. We are your hair salon’s business phone, how your auto-body shop texts you or gets appointments, your local government agency’s operations line, and your mom’s phone that she sometimes answers on her computer. We have more than 20,000 customers today, and are building the missing phone. Our team is ~80 people strong, across 15 countries. Experienced with 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a particular focus on usability, front-end, product design, and information architecture Well-versed across the stack from using Typescript to Python and/or Go Collaborative and enjoy working with multiple teams An Excellent Communicator with native or close to-native English skills Results-driven and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Startup experience is necessary Passionate About Learning open to new domains or technology; you're willing to dive into documentation/videos, talk to your teammates, and experiment to become well-versed

Compensation

The salary range for this role is from $100,000 to $160,000 USD/year. Total compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate. These factors include (but are not limited to) job-related knowledge and skill set, depth of experience, certifications and/or degrees, and specific work location.
