SIG is a leading provider of packaging systems with global reach. We seek a Process Design Engineer to lead mechanical design and integration of food processing equipment, focusing on aseptic and hot-fill systems, CIP/SIP, and hygienic design.

You will collaborate across R&D, project management, and operations to deliver robust solutions. The role involves international travel to support commissioning, start-ups, and customer projects, ensuring reliable performance throughout lifecycle.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of experience in process industries (food, beverage, dairy, pharma) with equipment design focus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong CAD skills; SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience with aseptic filling, CIP/SIP, or hygienic equipment design is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Lead mechanical design of equipment for food processing and related systems.
• Develop complete aseptic and hot-fill production lines and related systems.
• Drive system-level engineering, integration, and optimization.
• Create process concepts, P&IDs, layouts, and specifications.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering and operations teams.
• Travel internationally to support projects and customer sites.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting and process optimization.

Process Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and engineering of equipment, with a strong focus on food processing, aseptic and hot-fill technologies, filling systems, and related process equipment.
• Participate in the design and development of complete aseptic and hot-fill production systems, including filling equipment, CIP/SIP systems, and product handling solutions.
• Expand beyond component-level design to drive system-level engineering, integration, and optimization.
• Develop process concepts, P&IDs, equipment layouts, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Apply expertise in aseptic processing, sterilization technologies, fluid dynamics, and hygienic design principles.
• Solve complex engineering challenges related to food safety, process performance, validation, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to R&D initiatives and the development of next-generation filling and processing solutions.
• Bridge the gap between engineering design and operational reality by continuously improving designs based on field experience and customer feedback.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Ensure engineered solutions perform reliably and efficiently throughout their operational lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with Mechanical Design, Automation, R&D, Project Management, Product Management, and Operations teams.
• Travel internationally to support commissioning, start-ups, troubleshooting, and customer projects.
• Work directly with customers, suppliers, and OEM partners to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and process optimization.

You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education

• Minimum 5 years of experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or related process industries, with a focus on equipment design and engineering.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, process equipment, and manufacturing systems.
• Experience with aseptic processing, filling technologies, CIP/SIP systems, or hygienic equipment design is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international environments.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is considered an advantage.
