A leading data and AI consulting firm in Barcelona is seeking a Principal Data Architect to design scalable, secure data platforms on Azure. You will lead architectural decisions, collaborate with various teams, and ensure comprehensive data strategy implementation. Candidates should have over 8 years of experience in data architecture, strong knowledge of data modeling, and excellent communication skills. Formación

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture and/or engineering roles.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms, particularly on Azure.
• Expertise in business requirements translation into technical solutions.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into robust, end-to-end technical solutions; solid understanding of data warehousing, analytics, and data-driven use cases.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience interacting with senior-level stakeholders and leading technical discussions.

Role

As a Principal Data Architect, you will design and shape scalable, secure, and business-driven data platforms on Azure. You act as a technical reference for data architecture decisions across complex environments. You collaborate closely with engineers, stakeholders, and leadership to turn data strategy into reality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design end-to-end data architectures (data platforms, pipelines, storage, analytics).
• Define data models, standards, and best practices for scalability and governance.
• Lead architectural decisions and support complex technical trade‑offs.
• Work closely with data engineers, data modelers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure security, performance, and cost‑efficiency of data solutions.
• Contribute to data strategy and long‑term platform evolution.

To succeed in this role, you bring a combination of expertise, experience, and skills including:

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering roles, with exposure to complex, large‑scale data platforms.
• Deep expertise in data architecture and data modeling, including lakehouse and modern analytics architectures.
• Strong experience designing and delivering scalable, cloud‑native data platforms (Azure preferred).
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into robust, end-to-end technical solutions.Solid understanding of data warehousing, analytics, and data‑driven use cases.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience interacting with senior‑level stakeholders and leading technical discussions.
