Universitat de les Illes Balears in Spain seeks a pre-doctoral researcher for gravitational wave astronomy, funded by the Beatriz Galindo fellowship. The successful candidate will model GW signals from compact binaries and develop data analysis methods for current and future detectors.

They will help develop software libraries and analysis tools used by LISA, LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA, and future observatories within the IAC3 Gravitational Physics Group at UI Balearic Islands.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Master's degree in a related field by the contract start date.
• Pre-admission or admission to the PhD in Physics at the University of the Balearic Islands.
• Solid programming skills in Python and C, with HPC experience.

Aufgaben

• Undertake research in gravitational wave astronomy focusing on modelling signals from compact binaries.
• Develop data analysis techniques for current and future gravitational wave observatories.
• Contribute to software libraries and analysis tools used by the international GW community.
• Support activities related to LISA, LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA, and future observatories.
