Hitachi Energy in Madrid is seeking a junior control systems engineer to design and implement control and protection software for Power Conversion products at our ES Regional Office.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, test in simulation and real hardware, and support commissioning on-site. Travel ~15% of time; role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and up to 3 years’ experience, with English proficiency.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Up to 3 years of relevant experience in control systems or power electronics.
• Familiarity with Matlab Simulink, HiDraw or Compact Control Builder.
• Willingness to travel - commissioning and on-site experience welcomed.
• Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Define technical requirements and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
• Test and validate control systems in simulation, real-time environments, and hardware.
• Support commissioning activities and customer training—both remotely and on-site.
• Maintain software and documentation for control and protection systems.

• Enjoying global traveling and commissioning (At least 15% of the working time).

At Hitachi Energy, we are building and expanding our ES Regional Office (ESOPC) in Madrid, Spain, within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU).

In this role, you will actively participate in designing and implementing control and protection systems for Hitachi Energy’s Power Conversion products and applications.

At our competence center “Power Converter Solutions”, we have a leading position in the development, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of high-power electronic converters mainly for STATCOM and rail power supply systems. We also provide solutions for hydro pump stations and grid interties. With the help of our highly efficient converters, we contribute to the integration of renewable energies into the electrical grid of tomorrow, while also increasing the overall system efficiency.
