Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced power conversion technologies from concept to product realization.

You will design power converters and control systems for energy storage and grid projects, and work on protection schemes, cooling, and filtering to ensure reliability. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform simulations, prototype testing, validation, and integration, while evaluating new semiconductor

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Experience in electrical system design and power electronic converters.
• Experience with converter simulation tools such as PSCAD, DIgSILENT, or SPICE.
• Experience evaluating power converter topologies and semiconductor technologies based on technical requirements.
• Knowledge of power electronics hardware design, including semiconductors, capacitors, magnetic components, protections, and cooling systems.
• Experience developing and implementing control systems for power converters.

Responsibilities

• Design power converters from concept through product realization.
• Analyze technical requirements and define system architectures.
• Develop and execute converter simulations using industry-standard tools.
• Design power stages, protection systems, cooling solutions, and filtering circuits.
• Develop and implement control strategies for power conversion systems.
• Build prototypes and perform proof-of-concept activities.
• Commission power conversion and energy storage systems in laboratory environments.
• Execute validation activities for hardware, software, and integrated systems.
• Prepare technical reports, validation documentation, and engineering procedures.
