Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona, Spain, invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join Prof. JR Galán‑Mascarós’ group.

The project MAGNESIS, funded by ERC Synergy, focuses on materials synthesis, processing and electrochemical testing under magnetic fields. The successful candidate will synthesize electroactive materials, perform electrochemical tests, and contribute to reporting and collaboration with MAGNESIS partners.

This Full time on site position offers great opportunities for career growth. The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work Prof. JR Galán-Mascaros’ group. This position will be funded by the European Project ERC Synergy MAGNESIS. Project Description:

ICIQ is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. JR Galán-Mascarós. The candidate will carry out materials synthesis, processing and electrochemical experiments under magnetic fields.

Responsibilities

• Synthesis and processing of electroactive materials.
• Electrochemical characterization of materials.
• Electrocatalytic characterisation under magnetic fields.
• Writing reports and participate in data exchange and collaboration with the partners in the ERC SyG grant MAGNESIS.

Requirements

• The candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry or equivalent at the time that the contract is initiated.
• Experience in electrochemistry, materials synthesis and characterization.
• Strong expertise in OER/ORR: performance and product analysis.
• Ability to cooperate with experimental teams.
• Ability to present the results of research in scientific journals and in international congresses and also to non-scientific audience is a must.
• Proven excellent knowledge of English.
• S/He should be motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic and capable of working independently as well as in a team.
• Valued qualities and experience: Demonstrated experience in reporting and publishing research results in top scientific journals.
• S/He should be a motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic and capable of working in a team, making decisions, solving problems and creative thinking.
• Strong commitment for scientific research in a competitive environment.

Benefits and Contract

• We offer A full-time contract for 3 years.
• Incorporation: as soon as possible, subject to completion of the selection and administrative process.

• Annual salary split into 12 monthly payments.
• Remuneration aligned with the company’s salary policy, within the PIIP1– PIIP4 band (28.560€ – 36.720€) based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
