Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Catalonia seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Villa group and develop hybrid photoactive systems through organic synthesis and polymer chemistry, with applications in light-driven micro/nanomotors and photocatalysis.

Formación

• PhD in organic, polymer, or materials chemistry (or closely related field).
• Strong practical expertise in organic synthesis and/or polymer synthesis.
• Experience with structural/physicochemical characterization of molecules or polymers.
• Experience with organic photocatalysts and functional chromophores (e.g., perylene diimides or BODIPYs) is valued.
• Knowledge of photochemistry/photophysics or colloidal materials is a plus.
• Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate across disciplines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral English communication.

Responsabilidades

• Design, synthesize and characterize functional organic molecules and/or polymers.
• Incorporate photoactive blocks into particles, assemblies, or hybrids.
• Study relationships between structure, organization and photocatalysis.
• Characterize nanomotors physicochemically and photophysically.
• Analyze nanomotor motion with tracking and image processing.
• Prepare reports and scientific articles; present findings at meetings and conferences.
• Collaborate to integrate materials into light-driven microsystems.
• Provide guidance and support to students and team members.
• Contribute to laboratory organization and safety.
