Job summary

IFAE in Barcelona invites applications for one to two postdoctoral research positions in theoretical developments for searches of high-frequency gravitational waves.

The appointments will be for full-time positions of two to three years, starting in Fall ****. The GravNet-IFAE group focuses on modeling detector responses, sensitivity calculations, and network configurations to optimize gravitational-wave searches.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a PhD in Physics or related topics by the start of the contract.
• Experience with theoretical work dealing with searches of gravitational waves is valued.
• Familiarity with quantum sensing techniques is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Model and simulate the detector response to gravitational waves from various sources.
• Generate realistic sensitivity calculations for network configurations.
• Explore different network configurations to optimize GravNet performance.
• Contribute to designing strategies for GravNet to detect high-frequency gravitational waves.
