Job summary

Rakuten TV in Barcelona is looking for a technically curious final-year student to join our Infrastructure team as an internship. You will gain hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), AWS, monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) and automation using Python/Bash, while supporting daily operational tasks.

You'll work in a fast-paced, Agile environment with cross-functional teams, contribute to incident response, CI/CD, and observability improvements, and learn how high-traffic

Qualifications

• Final-year student in computer science, telecommunications or related field.
• Strong interest in distributed systems, cloud architecture and high-traffic apps.
• Demonstrated proactivity, communication skills in English and growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operational Support: assist daily tickets and incident response.
• Infrastructure Management: apply IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation for AWS.
• Observability: maintain monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
• Automation: write Python and Bash scripts to automate tasks.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities)

• Operational Support: Assist the team in handling daily operational tickets, gaining hands-on experience with incident response and system troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure Management: Learn and apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform and CloudFormation to manage our AWS environment.
• Observability: Help maintain and improve our monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk) to ensure high availability and visibility into our services.
• Automation: Utilize Python and Bash to write scripts that automate repetitive tasks, reduce manual toil, and improve team efficiency.
• CI/CD Collaboration: Support the deployment pipelines via GitHub Actions, collaborating with various product and engineering teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Agile Participation: Engage in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to a fast-paced environment where stability and innovation go hand-in-hand.

Who You Are (Requirements)

• Academic Background: Currently in your final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• Technical Curiosity: A genuine interest in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and the \'how it works\' behind high-traffic applications.
• Soft Skills:
• Proactivity: You don't wait for tasks; you look for ways to help and learn.
• Communication: You can clearly articulate technical problems and solutions in English, both verbally and in writing.

• Technical Foundation: Exposure to Linux, basic scripting (Python/Bash), and an introductory understanding of cloud concepts (AWS).
