Job summary

Pillar Srl in Barcelona is seeking a Head of Engineering who will own the health, scalability and day-to-day operation of Pillar's platform, leading our engineers and keeping delivery fast as the system grows.

You will set architecture and code standards, map and pay down technical debt, and balance short-term delivery with long-term health in collaboration with Product. Fluent English and willingness to relocate to Barcelona are required.

Qualifications

Experience building production systems and leading engineers.
Strong background in B2B SaaS environments with multi-tenant architectures.
Ability to scale product, architecture and team after product-market fit.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow our engineers who report directly to you.
Ensure the system scales with growing customers, users and data.
Make infrastructure decisions balancing DevOps cost and runtime efficiency.
Set and uphold standards for architecture, code quality, testing and reviews across the monorepo.
Identify, map and pay down technical debt with a transparent plan.
Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health and communicate trade-offs to Product.
Run engineering operations: reliability, incidents, releases, on-call and team rituals.
