A leading manufacturing firm in Tarragona, Spain, is seeking a Plant Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all site operations. This role requires a focus on safety, quality, and employee engagement while managing budget and performance management. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, Six Sigma certification, and 7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in textile, paper, or extrusion industries. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Formación

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in quality control, engineering, and operations of textile, paper or extrusion manufacturing preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

  • Ensure adherence to government regulations and standards.
  • Align workforce capabilities with business needs and ensure succession planning.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects at regional or global levels.

Cualificaciones

The Plant Director provides strategic leadership and daily oversight to all site departments at the site, assuming full operational responsibility with a clear focus on Safety, Quality, Employee Engagement, Customer Satisfaction, Environmental compliance, and continuous productivity improvements to deliver the overall corporate business objectives.

  • Lead and Develop Teams : Direct, mentor, and evaluate functional and operational managers to ensure site operations consistently meet performance targets and standards.
  • Oversee Site Operations : Supervise all activities within the plant, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Performance Management : Set clear operational goals and monitor plant performance against established KPIs and benchmarks.
  • Optimize internal processes : Ensure optimal facility conditions to drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency.
  • Strategic Contribution : Actively participate in shaping regional strategies as a member of the Extended Regional Leadership Team.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Prepare and manage operating budgets, monitor production costs, and prioritize spending to achieve volume, quality, and cost-efficiency targets.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Implement robust operating policies and procedures to meet current and future production and quality requirements.
  • Safety Leadership: Champion EHS compliance, fostering a “Safety First” culture through environmental stewardship, ergonomic improvements, and safe work practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Validate and adopt best practices from other plants, promoting a culture of quality, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Employee Engagement: Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, providing guidance and fostering strong relationships with frontline leaders and employees.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure full adherence to all applicable government regulations and standards.
  • Talent Management: Align workforce capabilities with business needs, promote internal growth, and ensure succession planning.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Conduct regular operations and plant-wide meetings, ensuring transparent communication and positive union relations
  • Regional and Global Initiatives : Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects at regional or global levels.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree In Related Field Required (Engineering Preferred)

Certifications

Six Sigma green or black belt preferred

Work Experience

7 years minimum of leadership experience in a manufacturing facility. Experience in quality control, engineering and operations of a textile, paper or extrusion manufacturer preferred.

Language

Fluent English and Spanish is required (both verbal and written).
