Cellnex is seeking a senior leader to head the Physical Security function across its offices, data centres, and remote assets. You will define standards, oversee incident response, and align security with Cybersecurity, Risk, Facilities, and HR across multiple geographies.

The role reports to the Security Director and sits within the Security Office, with a hybrid work model and a Barcelona headquarters location. English is essential and Spanish is valuable.

About the Role

Lead the Physical Security function, responsible for protecting the organization's personnel, facilities, and critical infrastructure from physical threats, including unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, sabotage, and environmental or emergency incidents.

Operate within the Security Office under the Security Director (COO reporting line), working in close coordination with Cybersecurity Operations and Governance, Risk & Compliance to ensure a unified approach to protecting both physical and digital assets.

Oversee the definition, maintenance, and promotion of Group-wide physical security standards, policies, and control frameworks to ensure a consistent level of protection across all business units, subsidiaries, and operational sites.

Ensure the continuous monitoring, operation, and improvement of physical security systems and processes across corporate sites, data centres, and remote telecom infrastructure, while also supporting executive protection and crisis response activities.

What You’ll Do

Physical Security Governance & Business Unit Oversight

• Define and maintain Group-wide physical security policies, standards, procedures, and minimum controls. Ensure consistent adoption across all Business Units, monitor execution maturity, remediate gaps, and promote best practice sharing across geographies.

Protection of Critical Infrastructure & Remote Assets

• Define risk-based protection requirements for offices, headquarters, data centres, telecom sites, towers, and other strategic assets. Ensure effective controls are in place to prevent unauthorized access, theft, sabotage, vandalism, environmental threats, and service disruption.

Security Systems & Technology

• Set standards for CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, visitor management, and related technologies. Ensure systems are properly operated, maintained, modernised, and aligned with monitoring, scalability, and lifecycle requirements.

Incident, Crisis & Personnel Protection

• Establish Group processes for physical security incidents, emergency response, investigations, workplace safety, executive protection, and travel security. Support Business Units during crises and high risk situations.

Cross-functional Security Coordination

• Coordinate with Cybersecurity Operations, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Facilities, HR, and other stakeholders to manage converged risks, align controls, and maintain an integrated enterprise-wide security posture.

What We’re Looking For

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Law, Criminology, or a related field.
• Postgraduate studies in Security, Risk Management, or Business Administration are an advantage.
• Relevant certifications in Physical Security, Crisis Management, or Business Continuity are valued.

Languages

• English: Advanced (Must-have)
• Spanish: Advanced (Valuable)
• Any other Cellnex language: Intermediate (Valuable)

Tools & Systems

• MS Office: Advanced (Must-have)

Experience

• 10 years of experience in Physical Security, Corporate Security, or Critical Infrastructure Protection within complex, multi‑site organisations.
• Proven experience leading physical security governance, standards, and protection programmes across multiple geographies or business units.
• Strong track record in incident management, crisis response, and coordination with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams (Cybersecurity, Risk, Facilities, HR, etc.).

Other relevant Skills or Characteristic

• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, influence key stakeholders, and drive alignment across business areas.
