Universitat de les Illes Balears in Spain is offering a Master/Researcher position in a state‑of‑the‑art non‑linear photonics laboratory. The role focuses on lab operations, optical fibre work and instrumentation for precision experiments, starting 1 Oct 2026.

Initial term is 1 Oct 2026 with a 37.5 hour work week and a 2029 planned end date for project tasks. No prior experience is required, and English communication is valued in research settings.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Photonics, Optics, Electronics, Telecommunications, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Optical alignment and free-space optics knowledge is required.
• Optical fibre handling and fusion splicing familiarity.
• Experience with laser laboratories and photonics instrumentation recommended.
• Basic programming skills (Python, MATLAB, Octave).
• CAD software and 3D printing experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support for a state-of-the-art non-linear photonics laboratory.
• Clean, inspect and maintain optical components and lab equipment.
• Prepare lab equipment for daily operation, including lasers and instrumentation.
• Verify lab instruments are calibrated and operating correctly.
• Assemble optical tables, mounts and lab infrastructure.
• Configure laboratory instrumentation for automated measurements.
• Maintain inventory and ensure lab safety procedures.
• Support lab in safety compliance and data collection.
