Universitat de les Illes Balears in Palma is seeking a Master-level researcher to provide technical support for a state-of-the-art non-linear photonics laboratory. You will handle optical components, assemblies, and calibration tasks while ensuring a safe and organised lab environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with optical alignment, fibre handling, free-space optics, and basic programming for data acquisition. Proficiency in CAD/3D printing and electronics is valued.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Photonics, Optics, Electronics, Telecommunications, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Octave or similar environments).
• CAD software and 3D printing.
• Basic electronics and laboratory instrumentation skills.
• Scientific data acquisition and instrument automation.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support for a state-of-the-art non-linear photonics laboratory.
• Maintain optical components, setups and lab safety procedures.
• Assemble optical tables, align and optimise optical systems and experiments.
• Configure laboratory instrumentation for automated measurements and data acquisition.
• Coordinate lab inventory and maintain calibration and safety records.
