Universitat de les Illes Balears invites applications for a pre-doctoral researcher in gravitational wave astronomy at IAC3, funded by BG24/00137. The project focuses on modelling signals from compact binaries and advancing data analysis tools used by LISA and LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaborations.

Successful candidates join a leading team at IAC3, with access to high-performance computing, and the Beatriz Galindo programme supports this research through 2029. Strong English communication is required.

Formación

• Degree in Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Master's degree in a related field by the contract start date.
• Pre-admission or admission to the PhD in Physics at the University of the Balearic Islands.

Responsabilidades

• Research activities into gravitational wave astronomy, modelling signals from compact binary systems.
• Develop data analysis techniques for current and future gravitational wave observatories.
• Contribute to software libraries and analysis tools used by the international gravitational wave community.
• Support LISA, LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaborations and future observatories.
