Job summary

CRAG-Centre de Recerca Agrigenòmica is seeking a PhD student to join the Rosaceae genetics and genomics group. The project focuses on transposable elements and their role in plant evolution using Physcomitrium as a model with bioinformatics and molecular biology analyses.

The contract is part of a grant and will involve sequencing analyses, Hi-C and ChIP-Seq techniques, under a one-year full-time arrangement in Spain.

Qualifications

• MS in Biology or Biochemistry and a Master in Bioinformatics or Molecular Biology.
• Strong knowledge of plant genomes and long-read sequence analyses.
• Advanced English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bioinformatics analysis of long-read sequences and methylation patterns.
• Perform Hi-C and ChIP-Seq analyses as part of the project.
• Collaborate within a research team to advance the Rosaceae genetics program.
