Overview
About SITA for Aircraft

SITA’s Aircraft Business Unit makes flight operations, air traffic management and aircraft maintenance more sustainable and efficient by enabling collaboration between people and organisations in the air transport industry through:

  • Communication – connecting aircraft and people around the world.
  • Data & Platform – turning aircraft data into valuable insight for the entire industry.
  • Applications – empowering the industry with user-friendly tools that make flight operations more sustainable and efficient.
Purpose of the Role

The People Business Partner (PBP) is a strategic partner to the SITA for Aircraft (SFA) leadership team, responsible for translating SFA’s business priorities into impactful People strategies. In a technology-led, geographically distributed business unit, the role shapes organisational capability, enables transformation and ensures the People agenda is fully embedded in how SFA grows and operates.

What makes SFA particular

A technology- and product-led organization, where scarce skills (software, cloud, data and AI, and infrastructure) drive the talent agenda. Two main hubs (Barcelona and Montréal) complemented by teams in Europe, India, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas, working across multiple time zones, entities and local employment frameworks.

A mix of operating models under one business unit: product and engineering teams, customer service and operations teams, Project management Office, Finance organization and a commercial organisation on sales incentive plans. Innovation and new-business initiatives (e.g. Startup Track teams) that need to be scaled while staying connected to the SITA culture.

What you will do
Strategic Partnership & Alignment
  • Partner with the SFA leadership team and the heads of Engineering & Technology, Customer Services & Operations, Product & Strategy, Commercial, Finance and PMO to co-develop a People strategy that supports SFA’s financial, operational and strategic objectives.
  • Act as an advisor and challenger to leaders, supporting them in building high-performing and resilient teams across regions.
Workforce Planning & Organisational Design
  • Lead strategic workforce planning for SFA, balancing capability, cost and location mix across hubs, and anticipating future skills needs
  • Support organisational design and restructuring initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy and execution in collaboration with local stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Recruitment COE to ensure a strong pipeline of internal and external talent, , in competitive technology markets.
Leadership & Culture Development
  • Coach and develop SFA’s 71 people managers and senior leaders to strengthen leadership capability
  • Build one SFA culture across 20 countries, multiple legal entities aligned with SITA’s values.
Change & Transformation Enablement
  • Actively mobilise and support multiple transformation initiatives by ensuring People programmes enable rather than hinder change.
  • Act as the connector between the business, Centres of Excellence and People Operations to ensure seamless delivery of change and effective adoption of new ways of working.
Insights & Feedback Loop
  • Provide insights and feedback from SFA to the COEs to support continuous improvement of People tools, processes and frameworks.
  • Analyse people and organisational data (headcount, attrition, tenure, mobility, engagement, pay positioning by location) to generate actionable insights and influence decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with People Country Managers across SFA’s locations to ensure a consistent employee experience and clear roles (PCMs manage operational cases; the PBP focuses on strategic partnership).
  • Collaborate with COEs to localise and implement People initiatives in line with SFA’s business needs and local requirements.
Qualifications
Who you are
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in HR business partnering or HR leadership roles, ideally within fast-paced, complex, and geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Experience supporting, engineering, or product-led organizations is a strong plus.
  • Strong experience in organizational design, strategic workforce planning, performance management and leadership development.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and quality while managing complex, fast-paced priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and challenge senior leaders.
  • Track record of supporting transformation and change management initiatives in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into insights.
  • Capability to use AI tools effectively to improve productivity, generate insights and support better people and business decisions.
  • Fluent in English;
  • Availability to travel
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and connecting dots across teams, time zones, geographies and topics.
  • Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills and cultural agility.
  • Proactive, resilient and collaborative approach.
