NHS Scotland is seeking an Education & Learning Officer to lead and deliver patient education within the Hospital’s Patient Learning Centre. The role expands accredited learning programmes, engages patients in education and therapeutic activities, and supports instructors and volunteers across the Skye Centre and hospital hubs.

You will have HND level or equivalent, plus qualifications in education/training (e.g.

Qualifications

• Educated to HND level or equivalent and experience with adults in educational/training/community learning settings.
• With a qualification in education/training (e.g. PGCE, TQFE, CITP) or assessor unit qualification and knowledge of awarding body approval and QA standards.
• Experience delivering adult education, including literacy, numeracy and ICT; ICDL or equivalent IT skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead delivery of core skills and education programmes aligned with the hospital's patient learning strategy.
• Develop and plan accredited learning programmes to support curriculum expansion.
• Engage patients in education and therapeutic activities through learner-centred approaches.
• Support instructors and volunteers, providing supervision on planning learning activities and professional development.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver a flexible service across the Skye Centre and hospital hubs.
