Job summary

Cleveland Area Hospital Holdings Inc is seeking a Patient Access Representative to register patients accurately and compassionately, verify demographics and insurance, and document information in the EMR. The role supports compliant at-service collections and collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a positive patient experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and multitasking abilities, experience with EMR systems, and a commitment to HIPAA and EMTALA

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good verbal and written communication, organizational, customer-service, and computer/keyboard skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately, exercise judgment within assigned authority, and protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

Greet patients, verify identity, and update encounters in the EMR.
Verify coverage, eligibility, benefits, and payer information; collect copayments and document transactions.
Communicate clearly with patients and staff; escalate unresolved issues, safety concerns or service delays.
Complete assigned work within established timeframes and participate in quality checks and audits.
Follow HIPAA, EMTALA, infection prevention, confidentiality, and applicable policies; protect confidential information.
